Online, Teaching Design functions as a participatory bibliography focusing on collecting and sharing resources on design education from intersectional feminist and decolonial perspectives. While we are far from being the first to talk and write about design education – there is quite a bit of research material and literature on the subject – however, there has been little digital space outside academic circles to bring together resources on the subject. The bibliography exists visually as an Instagram account and textually as google spreadsheet which can be accessed through Teaching Design’s website.As with the Covid-19 pandemic libraries and bookstores became less accessible, we focused on publishing online sources that are publicly available. These sources are specifically highlighted in the spreadsheet in blue.

 Update 2022-02-10:
In the upcoming months we are going to leave Instagram, however our research project will continue! So from spring 2022 onwards, instead of posting on social media, we will be sending out an infrequent newsletter with the latest updates to our bibliography – which will stay accessible via our  google spreadsheet&#38;nbsp;– and announcements about our events and workshops. 		<description>Teaching Design is a collaborative research project maintained and facilitated by Lisa Baumgarten in collaboration with a changing constellation of people. It was initiated in September 2019 by Lisa and Anja Neidhardt-Mokoena 
and started as a participatory bibliography focusing on collecting and sharing literature from intersectional feminist and decolonial perspectives.Since the beginning of 2020, the bibliography has been maintained by Lisa and expanded by the many contributors who sent in their sources. In the spring of 2020,&#38;nbsp;Judith Leijdekkers joined and has&#38;nbsp;been part of organising&#38;nbsp;the Conversations continued … series. Teaching Design is situated in a network of great people, friends and allies who have been part of the project in one way or another.
Since its launch in September 2019, it has expanded into conversational formats, workshops, a temporary library,&#38;nbsp;a space for reflections, and an infrequent newsletter which all has led to the platform in its current form. 
We invite you – design educators, students, alumni, faculty staff and everyone interested in the field – to share your experiences, doubts, questions, knowledge, concepts, methods and references, and to connect, reflect and learn collectively. As a participative format, Teaching Design is constantly in transition, welcoming proposals for collaborations of any kind.

In the course of the exhibition Teaching Design CONVERSATIONS we conceived methods based on the connection of critical practice and design pedagogy and tested them together with 20 participants. The focus was on the following key questions: How do we SEE? How do we ACT? How do we THINK? And how do we want to TEACH, LEARN and WORK together?
The aim was to encourage the participants to reflect on their own practice, to give them the space to pursue their own questions and approaches and to learn from each other in dialogue - without formulating definitive, universally valid answers and instructions.How do we SEE? – Acknowledging and changing perspectivesWhat is my perspective? How is it influenced by my education for instance?We all have a perspective on our own practice. Observing ourselves, exchanging views with others and taking different perspectives makes us more sensitive to working with others.How do we ACT?&#38;nbsp; – Maintaining one's stance and allowing group processesHow can a productive cooperation be achieved without ignoring different mindsets?We all have an individual standpoint in relation to our practice. It is our inner compass, but it can also lead to dissent in the context of collective processes in which people work together. This includes the work between teachers and students. 

How do we THINK? – Reflecting on and transforming ways of knowing and thought patternsHow do we recognise and break through prejudices and thought patterns?Our level of knowledge and our thought patterns are also an integral part of our practice. They are individual and develop in certain social relationships.How do we want to TEACH, LEARN and WORK together? – Collaboration: How do we, as teachers and/or students, want to work together? How can we avoid exclusion in our practice? In the last method the participants worked out and reflected on possible forms of collaboration between teachers and students in small groups.

 With Teaching Design Conversations continued..., we reflect on design education through dialogues – facilitating critical reflection and counter-knowledge production. Growing from our temporary library project, these conversations share practices and perspectives among educators, students, alumni and staff from both institutional and self-organized contexts. We work toward transforming design education collectively. Dialogue, embraced in feminist and decolonial discourses, allows us to listen, give speaking time, take each other seriously, and embrace differences.
